Ghost Whisperer - TV series?

A ghost in season 5 episode 2 was introduced. Scarlet, whose eyes and mouth have been stitched up was introduced at the end. I can't remember what happened exactly but basically I think she said "it's just beginning" or something to that end. About 10+ episodes she hasn't appeared, her plan hasn't been at least showing any progression. Does anyone know what happened? Did the creators just up and decide that they don't want to make a story for her? She had a lot of potential for a scary episode.
