Nissan Techs Available? 1996 240SX SRS Light On?

My cars SRS light is on constantly. I read in the FSM that if the light is on all the time that there is a problem with either the wriring, computer, or the airbags themselves. I know with toyota siennas the penger side airbag connector will have loose pin fit causing the SRS light to illuminate. Does anyone know of something like this to happen with the 240SX? I can't pull codes w/o CONSULT since the light is on steady, if it was flashing I would be able to using the door switch method (according to the FSM). The car hasn't been in any accidents or deployed the airbags. I'm confused and don't want to shotgun parts at it and Nissan wants $125 for a diag, a little to much coin for me right now. Thanks
